Education (Latin educere, to lead or draw out) is the systematic development and cultivation of the mind and other natural powers. "Education is the harmonious development of all our faculties. It begins in the nursery, and goes on at school, but does not end there. It continues through life, whether we will or not.... 'Every person,' says Gibbon, 'has two educations, one which he receives from others, and one more important, which he gives himself.'"
John Lubbock The Use of Life ch. vii, p. 111. [Macmillan & Co. '94.] Instruction, the impartation of knowledge by others (Latin instruere, to build in or into) is but a part of education, often the smallest part. Teaching is the more familiar and less formal word for instruction. Training refers not merely to the impartation of knowledge, but to the exercising of one in actions with the design to form habits. Discipline is systematic and rigorous training, with the idea of subjection to authority and perhaps of punishment. Tuition is the technical term for teaching as the business of an instructor or as in the routine of a school; tuition is narrower than teaching, not, like the latter word, including training. Study is emphatically what one does for himself. We speak of the teaching, training, or discipline, but not of the education or tuition of a dog or a horse. Breeding and nurture include teaching and training, especially as directed by and dependent upon home life and personal association; breeding having reference largely to manners with such qualities as are deemed distinctively characteristic of high birth; nurture (literally nourishing) having more direct reference to moral qualities, not overlooking the physical and mental. Knowledge and learning tell nothing of mental development apart from the capacity to acquire and remember, and nothing whatever of that moral development which is included in education in its fullest and noblest sense; learning, too, may be acquired by one's unaided industry, but any full education must be the result in great part of instruction, training, and personal association. Study is emphatically what one does for himself, and in which instruction and tuition can only point the way, encourage the student to advance, and remove obstacles; vigorous, persevering study is one of the best elements of training. Study is also used in the sense of the thing studied, a subject to be mastered by study, a studious pursuit. Compare KNOWLEDGE; REFINEMENT; WISDOM.Compare synonyms for IGNORANT.

How to use Learning in a sentence?
All students, regardless of race, income, or the neighborhood they live in, deserve equal opportunity to accelerated academic learning and challenges.
I'm fearful for what the people may suffer and for what destruction may be leveled against a really beautiful city that has been a center of culture and learning for centuries, i feel confident that the organization will do its best to make sure that the people get the assistance that they need.
America has always been a land of opportunity. Its the one place on earth where you can go from building brick walls in the Texas heat to the kind of success my brother and I have achieved, ted Cruz believes in the opportunity society, he believes in the dignity of hard work, and hes not afraid to fight for what he believes in. The Wilkses are not the only billionaires backing Cruz. Reclusive hedge fund magnate Robert Mercer gave $11 million; Texas energy investor Toby Neugebauer gave $10 million. Mercer has declined to comment on why he is supporting Cruz, while Neugebauer backs Cruz for his track record promoting conservative causes and opposing the federal debt. Despite the large donations, Cruz is not among the leaders of the Republican race. A Reuters/Ipsos poll on Sept. 8 showed him in fourth place among Republican voters at 5.5 percent, tied with former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee and Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker. . PRAYING FOR CRUZ. The day after President Barack Obama won a second term, I was pretty bummed out, Farris Wilks told congregants in a sermon on Nov. 7, 2012, a recording of which was provided by Peter Montgomery, a senior fellow with the equal rights group People for the American Way. I do believe that our country died that Tuesday night, Wilks said. Less than a year later, Farris found himself in the ballroom of the Marriott Hotel in Des Moines, Iowa, where Cruz stood with head bowed in a prayer circle, surrounded by evangelical Christians. Cruz was among the political headliners at a Pastors and Pews conference, an annual, closed-door affair that now occurs in roughly 14 states and is organized by Christian nationalist David Lane. The born-again Lane, a self-described former wild man of drugs, wine, women and song, believes the Bible should be the primary textbook in public schools and that judges who favor same-sex marriage should be impeached. He says people who embrace homosexual marriage, along with pagan public schools, pagan higher learning and pagan media, are creating Americas downfall with their multiracial false gods. One of Lanes major aims is to motivate at least 1,000 pastors to run for office in 2016. Polling shows there are 65 million to 80 million evangelical Christians but only a quarter of them vote. Getting 5 percent more registered and voting would, according to Lane, put a conservative in the White House. Asked about the Wilks brothers' financial support for Cruz, Lane said in an interview:.
I would call it an elite public school system in America -- offered families a so-called' choice' for this fall, and their springtime attempt at distance learning was a disaster. I give this as an example because things like this can not happen again in the fall. It would fail America's students, and it would fail taxpayers who pay high taxes for their education, covid hits all of us, and the guidelines for 6 feet social distancing simply mean that Betsy DeVos can't put every kid back in a school with the existing square footage footprint. It's just that simple.
The school leadership team acted immediately upon learning about a racially insensitive lesson and student remarks, and is currently working to address ongoing concerns from parents that racially insensitive student remarks continue, while student and staff privacy rights prevent me from sharing specific details, what I can share is that we will not tolerate racism in our school community and will continue taking swift action that addresses these issues.
