liking
Appetite is used only of the demands of the physical system, unless otherwise expressly stated, as when we say an appetite for knowledge; passion includes all excitable impulses of our nature, as anger, fear, love, hatred, etc. Appetite is thus more animal than passion; and when we speak of passions and appetites as conjoined or contrasted, we think of the appetites as wholly physical and of the passions as, in part at least, mental or spiritual. We say an appetite for food, a passion for fame. Compare DESIRE.
Compare ANTIPATHY.

How to use liking in a sentence?
I was looking for a little redemption this week, and that has to do with me feeling really comfortable on the golf course and liking it a lot. Not to mention Ive been playing really well, so it feels like a win has been coming. You always have to put yourself in contention. And you start winning a couple, and you figure out how to do it, and hopefully it keeps happening.
Can you point out to me one mayor that has not been battling with the police unions in the last 50 years? .... So the experience of this mayor, in terms of some cops not liking him, it's nothing new. It's part of life, it's part of politics. And it is what it is. This is New York City. We voice our concerns and we voice our opinions, so what I suggest is ... that we will engage in dialogue once we get our officers respectfully mourned and buried, and return to dialogue where we can hopefully resolve whatever differences are out there.
It's hard to get in a race car and not drive as fast you possibly can. That was the goal when I got over here: get acclimated, get up to speed and see what I could do in the race car, it was super special to drive, it handled beautifully, I was able to make some setup adjustments in the afternoon and get it more to my liking. But yeah, you always want to show how fast you can drive a race car no matter what the circumstances are.
Each man is led by his own liking.
Democratic Commissioner Ellen Weintraub:
Imagine, for example, a foreign billionaire who was dissatisfied with U.S. immigration policy and decided to try to change it more to his own liking, one statewide ballot measure at a time.
