How to use childhood in a sentence?
When E.T. was re-released, I actually digitized 5 shots where ‘E.T.’ went from being a puppet to a digital puppet and I also replaced the gun when the F.B.I. runs up on the van, now they walkie talkies. So, there’s a really bad version of ‘E.T.’ where I took my cue from ‘Star Wars’ and all of the digital enhancements of ‘A New Hope’ that George put in, and I went ahead, because the marketing at Universal thought we need something to get an audience back, and see the movie so I did a few touch up in the film, social media wasn’t as profound as it is today but what was just beginning, you know, erupted a loud, negative voice about, ‘how could you ruin our favorite childhood film by taking the guns away and putting walkie-talkies in their hands among other things.’ So, I learned a big lesson and that’s the last time I decided to ever mess with the past. What’s done is done, and um, I’ll never go back and do another movie I’ve made and I have control over to enhance or changes.
In the mid-1950s, I completed a novel called' Go Set a Watchman,' it features the character known as Scout as an adult woman, and I thought it a pretty decent effort. My editor, who was taken by the flashbacks to Scout's childhood, persuaded me to write a novel( what became' To Kill a Mockingbird') from the point of view of the young Scout.
I had to have my tonsils removed at six years old and there wasn't really a day in my early childhood where I don't remember going to the hospital, being on a breathing machine or being in the middle of the night and having to go to hospital because my chest was so restricted, being hooked up to a breathing machine...my mama staying with me the whole night. It wasn't the finest of times.
Starting with my mother who, throughout my childhood and not only my childhood but my children's childhood, would often talk about our family history... and she would start with a person who she fondly referred to as Papa Renty, the black African, she spoke with great pride about Papa Renty. She talked about Papa Renty and Papa Renty ability to read. Papa Renty would read the Bible to people, and that Papa Renty taught others to read and Papa Renty was kind of this well-respected community person, and when she spoke of Papa Renty, it was with a great fondness.

While some of my clients can speak freely in the safety of being in North America, their family could be scrutinized back home and anything could happen, i'm a proud American, so I ask, let's come together united. My own childhood home is being bombed as I speak to my friends back home.
