How to use fed in a sentence?
Folks are waiting for the Fed today for some sort of guidance, but it's a head-scratcher that there's nothing that can hold this market down, there are not a lot of places to put money right now in a low-interest rate environment.
The Fed clearly will not raise interest rates, but I think you will see a slight move in position where The Fed is going to suggest that they are looking to raise rates at least once this year.
The Fed's statement earlier in the week helped to squeeze us higher. But the market doesn't have a high degree of conviction at the moment, the outlook remains one of sub-trend growth and low inflation. The downgrades in Italy illustrate that we're not out of the woods as far as growth is concerned.
I think the market is just pushing the Fed to cut rates, it's a flight to quality as well.
The data from the U.S. for the past few months has been supportive so if this trend is to continue there's plenty of time for the Fed to witness stronger performance again and grow more aggressive.
