There globalization of trade, knowledge, innovation, industrialization and entrepreneurial culture is increasing at a rapid rate and the net result is more distribution of wealth and power. A new world order is imminent. The countries that succeed will be those with better socioeconomic policies, more cash, natural resources and creativity. The US can embrace this change and compete or we can resist it and lose.
Why would we subject our $23 billion tourism industry... to the industrialization and inevitable oil spills associated with offshore drilling? It makes no sense.
If they give up on this, it will be a huge setback for industrialization, and for planned urbanization.
As China gradually completes its industrialization, carbon emissions from industries may reach their peak earlier than expected -- but the country still has a long way to go when it comes urbanization, so emissions from construction, transportation and service sectors will keep rising. Looking at the broader picture, we feel the goal of having emissions peak around 2030 is a scientific one.
I see in industrialization the central problem of building in our time. If we succeed in carrying out this industrialization, the social, economic, technical, and also artistic problems will be readily solved.
