How to use new testament in a sentence?
Greek was the common language of the Eastern Roman Empire, which explains why the New Testament is written in Greek during the Roman period.
Sinclair B. Ferguson (1948- ):
When the New Testament speaks about the fullness of grace which we find in Christ, it does not mean only forgiveness, pardon and justification. Christ has done much more for us. He died for us, but he also lived for us. Now he has sent his own Spirit to us so that we might draw on his strength. He grew in grace, and when we draw on his power we shall likewise grow in grace.”
The New Testament makes it abundantly clear that whenever the Kingdom of God was concerned Jesus was absolutely uncompromising, even when he realized that for him personally the alternative to compromise was crucifixion.
I have always believed in the teachings of Jesus as they are set down in the New Testament. I was raised in the Jewish faith but I have honestly never felt close to God in the synagogue and I have had occasions of great spiritual warmth from priests and others in the Church.
I struggle to see the way that people can wave a banner of Christianity and still employ the language of violence, and even a lot of the imagery that I've seen used will reference Jesus as being a lion, a lion of the tribe of Judah, but one of the things that I recognize in the New Testament is that every time that we expect Jesus to show up as a lion, he shows up as a lamb.
